I hope all your doubts are cleared by reading this article. If you still have doubts, we will deal with them in class later.

ReplyDeleteIn our opinion, this article was very clear about the difference between Travel Agents and Tour Operators. However, we found some differences that were not explained there, such as:
- Travel Agents also give currency exange, provide information and advise clients about their holidays.
- There is a special Travel Agent which is called bussiness travel agent and arranges accommodation and transport for the bussiness traveler.
- There are two types of Tour Operators: the wholesale operators (that sell through travel agencies) and the direct sell operators (who market their products direct to the public).
The differences between travel agents and tour operators are:
ReplyDelete< the travel agents help the costumer to choose a destination, a hotel and transportation; and the tour operators gives you the different packages where you have the hotel, the accommodation, the attraction and the transport, in only one package.
< travel agents gives you a variety of posibilities so you can choose the option you like more. On the other hand, the tour operators may specialise in a particular type of product, leaving you with a limite range of holiday opportunities.

After we read this whole article which was very interesting and clear, we realised that some differences between travel agents and tour operators were not explained.
ReplyDeleteIn our classbook, the text explains that the great difference between those is that travel agents give the clients some advice, and information about their destiny.
on the other hand, tour operators only sell you a package which include transport, accomodation, catering and atraccions. They dont give you any extra material or advise or information.
As in the world we live, there are some business people who need to travel a lot. So there are some travel agences especialize on that which are called business travel agents. Those are in chart of selling the package to the business people.
We found in the coursebook that there are also two types of Tour Operators: the one who sell the products throgh travel agencies and the ones who are direct sell operators who sell their prodcuts direct to the costumers.
